7. Entry) Are there any settings in this novel which you have found to be beautiful? Or disturbing? Or memorable? Describe these settings and comment on why they were meaningful to you.
There weren't any settings that I found to be beautiful, but there was one setting that out found to be memorable. The memorable setting is the state university where Alice hid for a week or so. The most funniest part of the novel also appeared in the state university. I found the state university to be a memorable setting because I am a lot into college these days. Since I am into colleges I get interested in every colleges that I see or read.

6. Entry) Please choose one passage from the novel that is significant to you. Why is this passage meaningful? Please type it into one of your entries and comment on what you think about the passage.
My favorite passage in the novel was "It doesn't matter." This is my favorite passage because that was when I became interested in the novel. At the beginning of the book, I wasn't really enjoying the novel, but this passage is the first words of the book that caught my attention. The passage is also the start of the main event in the book.
5. Entry) What is the mood of this novel? Do you find this novel saddens you in any way? Why?
The mood of the novel is excitement and curiosity of the next fact that will happen in the story. I wasn't able to think of anything else when I was reading the novel because of curiousness that I had. I don't think the novel saddens me in any way because it is written to be a mystery than sad and I don't really get sad easily.

4. Entry) What is the climax of this novel? what happens? how do the events of this novel make you feel?
The climax of the novel is when Alice does her first crime, stealing a student's bag from an elementary school. After this crime happens, Alice keeps on making crimes after her first one because she doesn't really care about what will happen after. There are about five crimes Alice makes. The events of the novel made me feel more curious of what will happen next in the novel. The events of the novel keep the story flowing.

3. Entry) Who are the main characters in the novel? Do you like them? Why or why not? What is special about them? What do they reveal about the universal human experience?
The main character of this novel is called Alice Robie. There are other characters that are important as well, such as Marc Robie(Alice's dad) and Rick Rellen(the killer), but I think Alice is the most important character of the novel. I like how Alice thinks, but I don't like how she acts after that. Alice knows what the right thing to do is, but she keeps doing the wrong thing, waiting her mother to come and help her. The special thing about them is that her is that she is the main character. She gets to do many different kinds of things in the book. The murder in the book is written as it can really happen. Logically, everything in the novel can happen, but I doubt that it will actually take place.

2. Entry) Are there are any current situations in the world that relate to the novel? What are they, and how do they relate? Does the novel shed any light on how current situations could be resolved or "fixed"?
The only murders I have heard the last past years was the man killing approximately 33people that happened in the States about two weeks ago. The only thing that relates the novel to this murder is that people have been killed. There might be more crimes that relate to the novel, but this is the only thing that I have heard of. It might be because I am not really interested in what is happening in the world or that there was no crime at all. I don't think there were no crimes because there are so many people living around in this world.

* What is the major theme of this novel? Why is this theme important to a teenager living in 2007?
I think the major theme of the novel is never giving up, even though, you are fighting against everybody. Because Alice didn't give up and fought by herself, she was able to gain the victory which was finding the killer and solving the mystery. This theme is important to a teenager living in 2007 because the same thing might happen to him/her. It's basically the experience of a teenager in 2007 going through a murder mystery. If a teenager living in 2007 had to go through this kind of mystery, then this book would be a really good book to read. It shows everything you should do to show that you are innocent. To be honest, if I was the teenager that went through this murder, I wouldn't have done the same as Alice. I would have confident and courage, then go straight to the police and solve the case.
